STRUCTURE OF PDTTA

POOLE PAIRS

Premier
Two person teams - Teams are seeded by the Poole Pairs Administrator with the strongest/weakest player teamed together.
Matches consist of four singles and one doubles, 11 up, best of seven sets.
All matches are played at Bournemouth Sports Club on Thursday evenings.

TRADITIONAL LEAGUE

Regular League Matches
Three person teams based in individual clubs.
There is one division of eleven teams for the first half of the season.
All teams play each other once and then the division splits in two for the second half of the season.
Matches consist of nine singles and one doubles, 11 up, best of five sets.
Matches are played at individual clubs on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday evenings.

Team Handicap Knockout Competion
There is a team handicap knockout competition interspersed with the regular league matches throughout the season.
Matches consist of nine singles (all best of three sets) using the handicaps allocated by the committee.
Matches are played at individual clubs on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday evenings.

OTHER EVENTS

Tournament for all members of pdtta played once a season

Poole Closed Tournament
Tournament for all members of pdtta played once a season

Test Matches - 'Poole League' v 'Wimborne League'
Representative matches for players who do not play at County level, played twice a season
